Water Pollution Control

As per the WATER ACT 1974 the prior permission for disposal of wastewater in to the environment is obligatory on the part of industrialist. To obtain such permission, application is required to be submitted in a prescribed format to relevant authority. To operate plant without such permission is criminal offence, which provides two years to six years imprisonment and fine on conviction.

Air Pollution Control

To operate / establish any type of industrial plant the prior permission is obligatory on the part of industrialist. To operate plant without such permission is criminal offence, which provides eighteen months to six years imprisonment and fine on conviction. To obtain such permission, application is required to be submitted in a prescribed format to relevant authority.

Hazardous Solid Waste Management

As per the Hazardous (Waste Management and Handling) Rules 1989 and Amendment Rules 2000 framed by Govt. of India under Environment (Protection) Act 1986, the authorization is required to be obtained for storage handling, transportation, treatment and disposal of hazardous waste as categorised in the notification. Handling of hazardous waste in any manner without authorisation is a criminal offence.

Environment Clearance Certificate

As per the Environmental Impact Assessment notification dated January 27, 1994 and further amendment dated April 10, 1997 any new project as identified in the notification can not be undertaken in any part of Indian unless it has been accorded ENVIRONMENTAL CLEARANCE by the Ministry of Environment and Forest, New Delhi or the State Government (depending upon the type of project). Moreover as per the said notification, any activities related to expansion or modernisation (if the pollution load is to exceed the existing one) for the projects as identified in the notification has to obtain ENVIRONMENTAL CLEARANCE before the starting of such activities.

For obtaining such permission applicant has to face the public hearing and has to make an application to Ministry of Environment and Forest or State Government (depending upon the type of project).
